The horn-type radar level transmitter uses a horn antenna to produce a focused microwave pulse that is directed toward the material surface. When the pulse strikes the surface, it is reflected back to the device. The time interval between sending and receiving the pulse is used to compute the material level in the container. This method avoids physical contact and is effective in conditions with high temperature, pressure, or vapors.
